"finding the similarities in different perspectives is an important step to conquering the big problem. lets not skip that step." -- Ynez-Foxe Robertson
Have you ever wanted to hear someone else's perspective? During quarantine I have asked myself what it is like for the teachers. Maybe the teachers have asked what it is like for the students too. Well here are some people that might just answer those questions. Here are some interviews from the students and teachers of O.S.A (Oakland school of the arts).
“The only silver lining is that we can all relate to each other,” says Jordan Karnes, a literary arts teacher at O.S.A. they think that when O.S.A goes out of virtual learning we won’t be able to jump into it right away. She also had said that it would be a long time until schools could open again, and that when they do we would not have as many students in the building.
As a student at O.S.A virtual learning is very different from being at school. Naturally being a sixth grader I have never taken a class where I was actually at O.S.A, so I don’t have a full perspective of O.S.A. This school is so much different than the elementary school I attended kinder through fifth even though the only experience of O.S.A I have had is on screen.
The perspective of teachers to students is different but I can find some similarities. In Jordan Karnes perspective everyone is going through the same thing. Which is true but everyone has their own ways of coping with it. Even though we all have different perspectives we have an understanding of what we are going through.
The difference between the students perspective and the teachers perspective is very interesting because there are some similarities and some differences. The point of this article was to prove that no matter the differences we are all going through the same thing.
