I was curious about the video game community at Oakland School for the Arts, asking them what they think video games are all about. First I interviewed Chiara Kovac. She has a unique taste in games. I asked her what games does she play when she's bored. “Well it depends, but I like all of the Papa Restaurant games. I like playing games on coolmathgames.com but now I play The Ghost Stole my Puppy and Snow Tale.”
“I've never heard of the ghost stole my puppy,” I responded. So when I got home I played both of the games Chiara mentions The Ghost Stole my Puppy is about a ghost that stole my puppy. you go to this haunted house to find your puppy. There are the ghost’s friends everywhere trying to keep the main ghost safe and they stay in the dark because they don’t like the light and in the dark is where they can attack you, you go threw all these levels until you find your puppy and get him to his safety. Basically snow tale is a rip off of Mario but with a penguin in the north pole.
Next I interviewed Declan McMahon. I asked him If he liked Fortnite and his reply was, “I used to like Fortnite and when I came to OSA I realized I was in the Fortnite boy group and I didn’t wanted to be stereotyped as a Fortnite boy so I stopped playing. That's a weird way to stop playing but we all stop playing something somehow right?”
Next I interviewed Grace Triantafyllos, I asked her if she had a Gamestop card, what game she would get? She said “Such a hard question, allow me to google search one bit. At the moment there is not really a specific game I have my eye on… i might get overwatch but I would save it- You know what i need to find a better answer for you. Can you list of some games for me? *So I listed of some games* wait wait I think I know what I would do? Kinseed its pixelated it cute its retro and the quest look cool.”
Next I interviewed Shayna Barzell-Weber, I asked her if she liked Fortnite? She answered “Yes, because I thinks it's a really stupid game but its really addicting, I don’t know….it’s just fun and it’s a good way to waste time.”
Lastly I interviewed Charlotte porter, I asked her if video games was a big part of her life, she replied “I would say so, I play games on my phone everyday, I play Overwatch alot, and i'm obsessed with Doki Doki Literature Club, I used to play the sims, I used to play video games so much on my computer too.”
Well you heard it here, OSA is a creative place with creative people and creative video game players.
