"There are two new schedules that OSA might switch to, and no matter which one we switch to, both will make a big impact on this school."

There are two new schedules that OSA might switch to, and no matter which one we switch to, both will make a big impact on this school.
I asked 6th grader Trevor Walton what he thought about the two new schedules. ”I don’t like the fact that we might not have the same class everyday, and that we might not learn something new everyday from every class. I like having all the subjects everyday.”
Not everyone likes the new schedule options. Some people think it is a great idea to change schedules, others don’t.
“I think that the two block schedule will be good, you won’t have so much homework piling up everyday from different classes, ”said Grace Triantafyllos, a 7th grader.
According to Assistant Principal Mr. Oz, we are switching schedules so people can get deeper into what they are doing with the longer class periods, to provide city college opportunities because they need block periods on our campus, and to try to get more project based learning.
“By working with the faculty, and looking at other schools schedules, we were able to come up with two new ones, with the feedback we got.” said Mr. Oz.
Mr. Oz believes that everyone at OSA will be able to adjust to a new school schedule, although some people at first might say, ”I don’t know how to do that. It’s too long of a time in that class.”
Surprisingly, Mr. Oz and the administrators at OSA have been observing the students at OSA in order to look into a new schedule. He wants to have as much feedback as possible so that OSA can find the best schedule for our needs. There have been lots of emails, surveys, meetings, and even a school-wide information session in order to do just that.
