-Triece Kushner
The middle school superlatives, a time when people vote for other people. For those who don’t know what superlatives are, they are when people are nominated for a category, and then people vote on who they feel fits the category most

- Charlotte Porter
“I love her, but we are both dumbasses.”

Cutest couple
My first interview is for Cutest Couple, Zane Wilson and Kylee Landgraaf. They are both 8th graders. Their ship name is “Zylee”. They can’t really think of any others, so they are ok with it.
“So, for our first date we went to a movie, and then went to Pizza Kitchen,” says Wilson. “Then [Kylee] video called and she said she wanted to tell me something, but then she said she wanted to tell me in person. Then I knew what was going to happen. I love her, but we are both dumbasses.”
“I remember telling him to meet me in the hallway, and I told him we could have an open relationship, even though I didn’t want it. Then the next day he told me he wanted a monogamous relationship and I was happy,” says Landgraaf.
“We are pretty cool with winning this but it was just like, ‘Yeah, we won.’ It didn’t really change anything, you know?” says Wilson.
“We hang out, we are late to class for each other, we miss class together,” says Landgraaf. “We text during school, too. We facetime a lot,” Wilson adds.
Class Activist
My next interview is with Charlotte Porter. She won Class Activist. Porter is in 8th grade. “I had no idea that I was nominated, and if I did win, I didn’t think that it would be class activist. I didn’t really think I was going to win anything!” she says.
“I honestly have no clue why they chose me. Last year, I was into it. I talked about politics. Now I don't talk about it as much unless someone brings it up,” says Porter. “I imagine myself in a really tiny apartment with a minimum wage job trying to get a book published when I get out of school,” she says. “If I had to become an activist, it would probably be mental health because people with mental health disorders are treated really horrible in this society and it’s not talked about much.”
I ask if being an activist was something that interested her, she says,
“No, being an activist does not interest me. I just want to be an author and chill and do my own thing.”

Most Likely to Write the Next Great Book
My last interview is for Most Likely to Write the Next Great Book, Grace Triantafyllos. She is in 7th grade.
“Um, my book would either be a realistic fiction novel or a sci-fi novel, more specifically dystopian, because I read mostly realistic fiction but I like writingsci-fi, dystopian, and young adult,” she says. I askher if she agrees with winning this superlative, she said, “Um let me think about that for a second--I kinda disagree because I don’t think I want to be a writer.100% noooo. Absolutely not. I cannot write the next Harry Potter, because--well, first of all I can't write a series, and second of all, it is Harry Potter. Nothing can beat Harry Potter, and I am not a huge fan of Harry Potter, but the world building is so good and the story holds a place in people's hearts,” she also adds. “If I wrote a book, it would be sci-fi. It is just so epic. I don’t know exactly what I would title it, but something simple and concise. I wouldn’t want it to be too dramatic, but if I had to choose right now, it would be the one I wrote for the reading. It’s a dystopian sci-fi” (no surprise there) “and the part I have written so far is apocalyptic. It’s basically an alien invasion story.”

Most Hugs: Justin Mohun

Most Hugs: Justin Mohun
If you’re anyone who’s anyone at OSA, you’ve been hugged by Justin Mohun. Just kidding. Really, though. Mohun is a hugger. He definitely deserved this superlative, which he said so himself. When asked why he hugs people, Mohun responded with a very sweet sentiment. “Well, I feel like I need to show my loyalty and love to my friends, and I feel like the best way to do that is to give them a hug, and just show them we’re rock solid.” What a nice thing to say! He had plenty to say about why and how he got to hugging people, and OSA loves him for it.

Most Likely to Win a Nobel Prize: Tessa Rosen
Also by DECLAN MCMAHON
While Rosen is happy that she won anything at all, she’s not completely satisfied with “Most Likely to Win a Nobel Prize”. She said she campaigned herself for “Most Likely to Be on Broadway”, and would’ve rather had that superlative instead. She is not exactly unhappy, but doesn’t think it suits her, and doesn’t know much about it
