“After years and years of Christian movies not being RECOGNIZED for the masterpieces that they are, we finally have a movie that stands out from the rest of that woke garbage that Hollywood is producing!”--Gary Wigglesworth, 3st grade.
The following article is a special May investigation by the OSA Shallot staff, aiming to bring you the very best of the campus' fake news.
The year 2021 left us with many tragedies like Biden becoming president, yet this is the same year that 2025:The World Enslaved by a Virus came out. This godly movie has been trashed by the likes of IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, and Youtubers unable to see the beauty of Jesus. But it should be defended as the masterpiece it is.
The creators of the film, Joshua Wesely and Simeon Wesely really knocked it out of the park with their first film, with a heartfelt message railing against COVID-19 regulations in order to fight for freedom and liberty for Christians, and to advocate for people who are anti-vax. And the plot of this movie is the last thing you’d expect from a low budget movie.
The movie begins by informing us that the Chinese government took control after manufacturing COVID-19 and spreading it! They banned everything, meetups are illegal, going outside without permission is illegal, and Christianity is illegal. And if you were caught with any religious symbols you would be kidnapped, tortured, and executed.
Act 1: We start with an intense police chase scene with us not knowing what's happening, the man the police are chasing gets interrogated and we get a flashback prior to these events. Our protagonists Roy and Hannah just got word from a friend that their brother just got executed and that the friend was leaving their Christian group out of safety. Roy and Hannah undermined their brother's death to talk about how they are the last Christian group in the world, so they hatch a plan to find other Christians in hiding by spray painting the Ichthys symbol all around their neighborhood leading to their house. A cop finds them doing this and Hannah gets wounded, but some guy saves them by bashing in the cop's head into the asphalt with his fist after being led to the protagonists by the spray paint, and they go back to their house to see what they should do going forward, and they decide to keep spray painting symbols everywhere.
Act 2: After a montage of the protagonists and this new guy spray painting symbols everywhere we get a subplot about the government trying to track them down, with a government agent named Holly becoming a double agent as she switches sides to help the Christians.
With the help of Holly, the Christian gang starts getting better ways of converting people, like using the internet to plan meetups and handing out CDs. The government is freaking out about this and starts trying to quell the spread of Christianity by finding out where these meetups are happening and arresting people, but they don’t know who started this uprising until something surprising happens!!
Act 3: The friend who left the Christian gang ratted them out to the government. After an intense chase scene, Roy gets arrested, interrogated, and executed, with the movie ending on a bitter note. And a message to fight back for freedom.
The beauty speaks for itself, but what about the lighting, what about the cinematography, the editing, did it look good? Like every part of this movie, it was cranked to 10 on the quality scale with groundbreaking and unique visuals. They had a knack of making it look like the cameraman was filming this while balancing on a wobble chair. The set was enhanced by the lighting, either the set piece was so dark that you couldn’t make out anything, or so bright that when they cut to another scene you were flashbanged. The editing gave it the personality of a person who keys cars for fun. Every time they switched to another angle the lighting changed, as well as the hard cuts happening in such rapid succession that it looked like a storyboard going at 30fps when it was made for 2fps.
However, these visuals are complimented by the acting and the writing, giving the movie its own feel that makes it stand out from the rest of the other action movies. Other movies have too many action set pieces and five minutes of unrealistic planning, but 2025: The World Enslaved by a Virus has a small shred of action set pieces and so many scenes of boring planning for the most simple plans. For example, when Roy and Hannah get saved by the unnamed man, they go over to Roy and Hannah’s house to see what to do next, they proceed to spend over 10 MINUTES talking about a plan, AND THAT PLAN IS JUST SPRAY PAINTING FISH LIKE LAST TIME!!!! (Very realistic.)
The overall quality of 2025: The World Enslaved by a Virus really shines throughout the woke garbage that is mass produced by Hollywood. And it stands up for underdogs like White Evangelical Christians who have been SHAFTED from the media. The movie’s creator, Joshua Wesely, a 24 year old youth pastor who may or may not have groomed a 14 year old when he was 20 and married her when she was 18, took a stand against this Non-Binary EVIL with a middle school science textbook from the 50s, a 30 dollar camera, a script made in one hour, and a will to fight for liberty. But don’t take my word for it, see it for yourself!
