With Christmas quickly approaching, it’s important for those participating in the popular gift-giving game “Secret Santa” or as some know it, “White Elephant,” to review the best gifts to give to your friends and family. Secret Santa is known worldwide, and millions participate, and you should too.
Gabbi Luevano, a 7th grade Fashion student says, “Yes I have, some gifts I would recommend are mugs and stuff that are gender neutral, like stuff everyone can use.” So, What are some gifts you should get for your friends and family? Let's dive in deep to see what gifts suit your loved ones. As Luevano says, gender-neutral gifts are good options because you can get them anything without it being for a specific gender. This makes it easier to break it down but there's more. Some ways you can find a good gift for your Secret Santa is by asking yourself questions like “What is their favorite color?” or “What is their personality like?'' Questions like these help a lot to find the best possible present.
Amancay Herrera, a 7th grade Visual Arts student says, “Yeah, I liked that it's like a surprise so there's not really any pressure because in my family there's a lot of people, so with Secret Santa, you only get one person, and that way you can put a lot of thought into it.” With big families or friend groups, it's easier to just have one person to choose instead of picking favorites, Like Herrera recommended. But even so, with bigger groups, you should have a list or a way to break down information about who you got for Secret Santa.
Secret Santa is always hard when looking for gifts, especially if it's a class exchange and you don't really know anyone. So, gift recommendations should be cheap and easy. Lip balms, earrings, makeup, clothes, accessories, stuffies, mugs, stickers, blankets, phone cases, gift cards are all great things to give people, and they’re also cheap and easy to obtain. Gifts like these are just examples of what you can give your friends and family.
“No, I haven’t participated but I would like to because it seems like a lot of fun,” said Ife Thomas, a 7th-grade Fashion student. “Some gifts I would recommend are blankets, fluffy socks, maybe a Stanley since those are really popular.”
