"So, Halloween’s around the corner, and you don't know who or what you’re going to dress up as. You don’t want to head to your local Spirit just to see all the costumes are too small, or bite the bullet and put more money in Jeff Bezos’ pocket. If you want something that will make people laugh and something they’ll recognize (or not), then this article will assist you in your quest to gather a crowd, humor, or confuse this Halloween. Low budgets don’t have to mean low standards." -- Donovan harris, 10th grade
For People Who Want to Reference Pop Culture :
Dressing up as a movie character is fun, but It’s done quite a bit. So here are some alternate Ideas. All you need is a flannel shirt, (preferably cargo) shorts, maybe a beanie and/or a long-haired wig, and you are now every grunge musician ever. Dressing like every 80’s musician would not be the most low budget thing, so this is guaranteed for someone to understand, impress, and not go broke. In regards to a more recent phenomenon, something that works with almost every celebrity you can think of is referencing something they are very well known for. For example, many rappers are known for saying they have “two phones” in their songs, Drake (Money In The Grave), Baby Keem (first order of business), Rob Stone (Chill Bill), Kevin Gates (2 Phones). Again, this can work for many people, so feel free to get creative. Or for an even more recognizable character, dress in a red tracksuit, and maybe a drink cup, you are now dressed up as Sue Sylvester from Glee.
For The People Who Like Messing With Others:
This idea may involve a bit of pre-planning, but it’s guaranteed to get a laugh out of someone. We all have that one friend who wears the same type of clothes every single day. For a costume idea, think of that person and dress like them. If they have a distinct hair or clothing style, just imagine that on yourself. If your friend sees this, and hopefully questions their sanity for half a second, you should be proud of yourself.
For People Who Like Facepalm Humor:
All of these ideas involve a single color as the theme, for example, you could dress in all pink, tie a shoe to your head, and voila, you are now gum. If you don’t have any clean shoes for this, you most likely care about cleanliness, which I don’t blame you for. Another Idea would be taping a Pepto Bismol label to your body. You’ve now got two pink chewing substances to go as. Finally, there’s dressing in all black, carrying a bag of lemons, and you are officially dressed up as Life. Because When Life gives you… -You get it.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, we’ve discussed a couple unique Ideas for costumes you may have never heard of before. There are probably other costumes that are more conceptual and/or easier to do at the least minute, but it’s the thought that counts, and that applies to whoever sees the costume as well. So good luck, and have a good Halloween.
