If you’re a fan of the popular indie game Among Us, you probably know that there’s a new map soon to be officially released in the game: The Airship. In preparation for the official release of the map, I’m going to give you a rundown of what we know about it. From the story behind The Airship to new tasks on the map, soon you’ll be an Airship expert! Let’s dive right in.
“The Airship is a new, free, 4th map for Among Us, coming out in early 2021! All new tasks, skins, and more to keep you working ... and guessing.”
The description on the official Airship map trailer (watch here)
I’m going to start with the question on every Among Us fan’s mind… When will the map be officially released? There are many theories on the date, as the developers vague promise was that the map would be “coming out in early 2021” (see above). There’s a possibility that the Innersloth devs are waiting for an important date to release the map, because it’s seemingly ready to play, except for 1 or 2 minor bugs. (People were able to find out about those when there was a glitch that allowed them to play on switch. It has since been patched.) It looks like for now, all we can do is wait.
All right. Now we know when to expect the map (sort of). What about the actual map? What will it look like? What will the new tasks be? I’m going to tell you a bit about that. (Disclaimer: Some things might change because the map, of course, isn’t released yet.)
First: The map. (See picture above)
This map is entirely drawn from the game Henry Stickmin, another Innersloth game. You can actually play Infiltrating the Airship (the Stickmin game where the Toppat Airship shows up) for free online here. As you can see, there are a ton of new rooms on this map, such as the vault, the kitchen, and the armory. Perhaps one of the most fun new rooms is the Gap Room, with a floating platform that you can travel over the gap on. The Gap Room also has a few ladders to climb up and down -- it’s a layered map. There are also some rooms that have new names or formats: the Cockpit seems similar to Navigation, and Medbay has been replaced by Medical. Electrical has the same name, but in a mind bending new format perhaps even more dangerous than Electrical in the Skeld. For your reference, here’s a list of all the rooms. (Note: The Main Hall has smaller rooms inside of it, which will not be listed here.
Now: Tasks.
There are quite a few awesome new tasks on this map, from Rewind Tapes to Clean Toilet. I couldn’t find enough information to list all of the tasks, so I’m just going to list a few examples.

There are quite a few awesome new tasks on this map, from Rewind Tapes to Clean Toilet. I couldn’t find enough information to list all of the tasks, so I’m just going to list a few examples.
- Polish Ruby. This task is polishing the prized Toppat clan ruby. The ruby is stored in the Vault, and there are spots on it that you have to wipe clean with a cloth.
- Rewind Tapes. This is a task in Security where you must go forward or back on a tape to reach a specific timestamp.
- Dress Mannequin. This is arguably the most fun task in the entire map. In the vault, there’s a crewmate-shaped mannequin you need to dress with various pieces of clothing and accessories.
