Ever get board on summer break? well, never fear here are 5 ideas you could try out. - Zoe deetz 6th grade
Summer is an amazing season. But sometimes you need ideas on what to do to keep yourself entertained. With this fun list you can make your summer fun and free of boredom.
2. Summer cleaning
“Some of us reserve cleaning for weekends, but if you're stuck at home this summer, you've likely got some extra time on your hands,”said Brown, adding,“While you're cleaning, don't forget to tidy your tech, too.” Yes, cleaning is a very tedious task, but when it’s all done your space feels comfortable and refreshing. After you clean there’s also time for reorganizing and redecorating.
3. Write a book/manga
If you are as into manga as I am, a good project for summer is to write a manga yourself. However, if you are not into that, then you could write a poem book or a novel. For manga, of course, you would have to learn the art style and everything but if you are persistent, it gets a whole lot easier. For a learning book, I would suggest Beginning Manga by Sonia Leong. I own this book and it teaches you what supplies you need and the basics. It will tell you the shapes needed and how to shade the characters face and/or body. It also has practice sheets you can fill in. You can find this on https://www.amazon.com/ . You can also find templates on https://www.amazon.com/.
4. Learn a sport or art
Summer is the perfect time to get an exercise routine in. One of the best ways of doing this is learning a sport like tennis or competitive swimming. There are many local pools to swim in and local tennis courts. Or of the best places to go are the Napa Valley college tennis courts. Another thing you could do is learn an art. Whether it be an instrument of a new form of dance, it's always a good idea to try out new creative activities. You could even go to a summer camp to learn more about that area of art. A few types of dance you could try to learn are:Irish dance, hip hop dance, go to a public ice rink.
5. Host a virtual bake off
This may be a little messy, but it's worth it. You can gather a few good friends and host a zoom. You can all pick out a recipe to bake. When the baked good is done you can meet up somewhere or you can ask your sibling or guardian to be a judge. You then enjoy your yummy baked goods and hang out with your friends.
