James Charles is a beauty influencer who got exposed by a couple of minors who reported receiving inappropriate messages from Charles. At the time Charles knew they were minors and it rose to the media and soon gained a lot of attention. Obviously this behavior isn't right. However, this isn’t his first time getting caught up in this kind of scandal. Charles was accused of doing this in the past and has made countless videos of him apologizing, and yet he still did it again. To be honest, I don't know why he keeps on doing it but I feel like he's wanting attention. He got demonetized on Youtube and got kicked off his own TV show, Instant Influncer that was being hosted by Youtube.
Charles has done horrible and wrong stuff in the past like making a transphobic comment, and being accused of harassing Shawn Mendes, and many more. After his inappropriate messaging with minors, Charles soon after was uncancelled because another beauty influencer, Jefree Star rose to attention after making a huge mistake and getting cancelled as well. However, soon after they realized he's still a problem, Charles got cancelled again.
In response, Charles made a youtube video called “Holding Myself Accountable” addressing the situation. His first apology video from a year ago was called “No More Lies” but it was clearly scripted and fake and people thought that as well.
Trisha Paytas is an influencer and podcast co-host on frenemies who made a Tik Tok about the situation, blaming Charles and calling him out in the most sincere and nicest way she could.
Speaking of Charles, Youtuber David Dobrick was canceled around the same time. Dobrick exploited his former vlog squad member for vlog content where he played an inappropriate prank on Seth Francois without consent.
Dobrick convinced Francois to kiss his crush blind folded but switched his crush with one of his friends and opened the blind fold to see he kissed a guy. Francois made a video called “Accountability to all Creators'' about Dobrick and what this incident has done to him mentally. Dobrick also got cancelled for forcing 5 girls to have inappropriate interactions with a vlog squad member named Dom.
One of the girls then messages Dom asking for the video to be taken down. She wrote two paragraphs explaining and asking for the video to be removed. After Francois came out about the situation Dobrik was cancelled and his sponsors dropped him and YouTube demonetized his account.
After Dobrick and Charles were cancelled , Jefree Star was brought caught the media’s attention because “he was involved in abusive and sexual harassment behavior” said Insider. Star later forced Gage into an inappropriate situation while Gage was under the influence . What was Star thinking? He knew he was going to get canceled AGAIN if he did it, but I guess it's his fault. Star and Gage soon had to go to court explaining the situation.
Star's attorney denied Gage’s claims to Insider, saying Star "has never tasered or drugged anyone for s*x." People then found soon later that Star was paying people @10,000 to keep quiet. Star soon posted a video called “Doing What's Right. He did not apologize but said what he needed to work on himself. I’m sorry but this is so funny because what he needs to work on is an APOLOGY VIDEO. It’s hysterical that he was acting all innocent and playing the victim when we all have proof of the situation.
Dr. Phil a is TV “doctor” who helps families with situations. Phil was recently called out by Bhad Bhabie who was on the show when she was young. Bhabie made a video called “Breaking Silence” explaining her situation with the show and how she was forced to go to a ranch or called the “Turn Around Program.' At this ranch, another kid, Hanah Archuleta, was assaulted Archuleta called the police and filed a case, but was punished by the workers of the ranch for speaking out. Bhabie then stated in her video that “Dr. Phil has until March 19th through April 5th to issue an apology, not just to me and Hanah but everyone else you sent there.”
Bhabie also stated “If you don't apologize I will handle it my own way.” In the video she explained what happened at the program and how it wasn’t right to send kids there. Bhabie explained that “We couldn't shower for 3 days and had to sit in a tent and not sleep.” After Dr.Phil appeared on the news he got asked about the situation and he said, “She had a bad experience and I wouldn't want that.” He also said that “I had nothing to do with the experience.”
After all these influencer scandals you can see how some people are really not made to be in the spotlight. I really do hope this ends and they come to the conclusion to not do it again and we need a sincere apology.
