"With age, you would think the family would get more in touch with what to say and what not to say... but these new seasons seem to prove that theory wrong." --Triece Kushner
I’m sure you are all familiar with the Kardashian family; Kim, Kourtney, Khole, Kendall, Kylie, and Kris. The family started their hit reality TV show, “Keeping up with the Kardashians,” in October of 2007, running for 14 years and 20 seasons before they ended their contract with E! Network. On September 22nd, the family created a new show called “The Kardashians.” With age, you would think the family would get more in touch with what to say and what not to say, especially with the cancel culture of the newer years, but these new seasons seem to prove that theory wrong. Here are some of the most out-of-touch things they have said on this new show alone:
“I HAVE THE BEST ADVICE FOR WOMEN IN BUSINESS, GET YOUR FUCKING ASS UP AND WORK” - Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian, one of the most famous nepotism babies telling women what to do to be successful? It’s so ironic how in denial the Kardashians are about the advantages they had getting famous. They were born into a rich family in a rich neighborhood, had rich friends all their life, and didn’t have to put in as much effort or time as literally everyone else. It’s just insensitive and discrediting.
“If I want to find somebody real, serious, someone I would actually wanna spend my life with, it would have to be someone age appropriate. Like in their 20’s.” -Scott Disick
Why in the world Disick needs his next serious relationship to be with someone half his age is beyond me. Mans literally turns 40 in a few months and talks about how his next ideal girlfriend should be 21 years old.
"I haven't been to A GROCERY store in so long" - Kylie Jenner
Not only is Kylie 25 and doesn’t know how to do laundry, wash dishes, or do any house hold chores by herself, but (surprise, surprise) doesn’t know how to go grocery shopping! Throughout the hour Kris and Kylie Jenner spent in the already fancy and upscale grocery store, they continuously struggled to complete the basic task. They went to the grocery store because Kylie wanted to do “normal stuff,” which shows how out of touch they are with today’s society.
“It was the same way you felt about Bruce (Caitlyn) at first.” -Khloe Kardashian
It’s 2022, and people are still using dead names? It’s still bizarre that Kendall and Kylie call her dad, and now they refuse to call her by her right name. It’s outlandish and borderline transphobic – especially since they are family. It’s uncomfortable to watch, especially since half the episodes are about them complaining about how no one respects them. I really wonder why…
This also makes me wonder- are we the problem? By feeding into the out-of-touch behavior of the Kardashian sisters are we encouraging them to continue their lifestyle without changing? Sure, people cancel them all the time for the things they do (for a good reason), but the Kardashians never seem to intake the volume of their actions. Even when they are canceled and saying such outlandish things they still have thousands of streams each episode, and makes us draw to the conclusion that the only way to seemingly stop their problematic behavior is to stop giving them a platform.
