"MANY PEOPLE ARE FRUSTRATED BECAUSE THEY’RE LOSING THEIR JOBS AND THEY ARE SCARED THAT THE ECONOMY IS GOING TO CRUMBLE, BUT WHAT’S WORSE: HAVING THAT ECONOMY CRUMBLE, OR LOSING INNOCENT PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO START A PROTEST AGAINST STAYING INSIDE?"

As everyone knows, California has been in quarantine for about two months now. People have been ordered to stay inside and close shops unless they are a necessity. For the most part, The Bay Area has been staying in, but for some people around the midwest to the east coast, protesters against quarantine say that the stay-at-home measures imposed by state governments to control the spread of Covid-19 are an overreaction.
To make matters worse, some also come bearing firearms, because gun rights groups have been among the organizers. These protests are happening in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Minnesota, Utah, Virginia, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Oregon, Maryland, Washington, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Idaho, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, and Montana.
What are Covid-19 protesters doing?
Protests have changed in size across the country, from a few dozen protesters in Virginia and Oregon to rallies of thousands in Michigan and Washington state. Which is a lot of people. Washington state saw one of the most massive demonstrations, with around 2,500 protesters assembling at the capitol in Olympia. The state was the early epicenter of the Covid-19 outbreak in the US. In Colorado, hundreds of anti-lockdown protesters were met with a counter-protest by a few healthcare workers, who, dressed in scrubs, blocked traffic at crossroads. Hundreds in Arizona took to their cars to create a gridlock around the capitol building in Phoenix. Idaho, Maryland, Texas, and Indiana saw similar gatherings of hundreds. In all this chaos, there were protesters who were literally wearing masks, so I don't really know what teams are on. he main problem that people seem to have a problem with is that their jobs have closed and that they're hot yoga classes have been canceled. However, by just gathering, protestors are making themselves vulnerable to the Coronavirus.Protesters have destroyed a Coronavirus testing center in Abidjan, Africa which is just slowing down the vaccine process even more.
"Today, under the pretext of the coronavirus, which doesn't exist, people are driven into slavery, they are trying to establish total control over all us all," said one of the protesters.
Trump's effect on the protesters
Apart from gun rights groups, organizers behind these protests have largely been conservative, pro-Trump, activists. US media have described many of these demonstrations as suggestive of Trump campaign events, with pro-Trump banners, t-shirts, and signs, which leads people to believe that Trump has been persuading a lot of people to protest. Trump has frequently called the people who are protesting “wonderful” and “great.” Trump repeatedly affirmed that everything was “under control” and that the virus would just “disappear” in warmer months.
“We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.” Said Trump on January 22,
Even if the virus were to disappear, everything would not just go back to normal. It would take a long time for establishments to open back up, and for a lot of people, their work might not just open back up.
“It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.” and like I said, that not going to happen. There is no way. “Keeping these restrictions in place too long will cause long-term damage to local economies,” He said, which is true, over 22 million people have applied for unemployment which means eventually if works don’t open back up, the government is going to run out of money, so they would need to raise prices on things like parking.
Conclusion
Many people are frustrated because they’re losing their jobs and they are scared that the economy is going to crumble, but what’s worse: having that economy crumble, or losing innocent people because you thought it was a good idea to start a protest against staying inside?
