"the live action aladdin and the animated aladdin have many SIMILARITIES and differences, let's see what they are" -- mariah rico, 6th grade
In the animated Aladdin movie the beginning there is a man on a camel
and is traveling through the desert, but in the live action Aladdin movie, it
begins where there are two boats, one big and fancy, and one small. And some of the lines in the animated movie are different from the live action movie. Disney’s Aladdinis a timeless, animated classic. Aladdin’s
songs, cast, and characters. So, it was no surprise when Disney announced plans to give one of their biggest animated hits the
live action treatment.
The live action movie is more family friendly than the animated one.
Another difference between the animated movie and the live action
movie is that Princess Jasmine sings the song, “Speechless,” a song
about how her father, Jafar, and anyone else keep trying to silence her about how she has to marry a prince. Jafar says, “Life will be kinder to you, Princess, once you accept these traditions… and understand that it’s better for you to be seen and not heard.”
Difference 2: is that in the live action movie, Princess Jasmine wants to become Sultan instead of marrying a prince and the prince becomes Sultan. And one last difference related to Princess Jasmine is that in the animated movie, Jasmine’s mother wasn’t mentioned almost 99% of the time. But in the live action movie they mentioned Jasmine’s mother way more than they did in the animated movie.
For the most part, we find that the characters look like their counterparts. One of the major differences is the change in image of the Genie (who is played by Will Smith in the live action movie).
The soundtrack of the live action Aladdin movie includes songs from the animated version. Songs like "Friend Like Me" and "A Whole New World" are featured in the film. But we can expect a spin off on the original soundtrack. Yes, some of the verses in “Friend Like Me” are similar, but the performance in the live action Aladdin was a little more dancing and singing, even with verses that were replaced and added into the song. The live action, “A Whole New World” has the same verses as the animated version.
As soon as you start watching you can tell that Disney’s live-action Aladdin has avoided some of the missteps of the original animated film. The lyrics of the song, “Arabian Nights,” which is sung in a prologue that frames the new film as a children’s fairy tale, have been changed from this description of the film’s Middle Eastern setting,“It’s barbaric, but hey, it’s home”, to this - “It’s chaotic, but hey, it’s home.” Some of the more offensive lyrics to the song were already softened once before, in response to accusations of racism, when the 1992 film came out on home video, although the word “barbaric” was left in.
One thing we can notice from the Aladdin’s live action trailer is that it has similar imagery from the animated version. The only difference in the trailers is that the new Aladdin movie has a lot more vibrant colors that would catch someone's attention. Based on the trailer you could expect an action packed musical.
When you think of the character's clothing, the first thing that should come to mind is Jasmine's iconic turquoise gown. In the live action Aladdin, Jasmine wears the famous turquoise gown in a modernized design, and on top of that something to look after is the 10 wardrobe changes she will have throughout the movie.
