Get ready for 2023 some great movies are hitting the theaters such as the new live action remake of The Little Mermaid, The Super Mario Bros and last but not least the classic Disney remake of Peterpan and Wendy.
The Little Mermaid
Disney has confirmed that the classic live-action remake of the Little Mermaid is coming to theaters on May 26th.This remake of Disney’s classic children's movie is already getting hate due to Halle Bailey playing as the main role, Ariel.
People are claiming it is “unrealistic” and that Ariel “shouldnt be played by a black woman.” Besides the hate, Disney will make Ariel have her natural hair in locks and will be played by a Bailey. However, many people are excited to see Bailey as Ariel. “It is really exciting to have a mermaid of color because it inspires more people of color to try things,” says 11-year-old Madison in a recent New York Times interview.
Aside from Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King is Prince Eric, Jacob Tremblay is Flounder, Melissa McCarhty is Ursula, Javier Bardem is King Triton and Daveed Diggs is Sebastian. The Little Mermaid will remain PG and is directed by Rob Marshall. Filming originally started early 2020 but was postponed due the pandemic but started again in mid-2022.

Chris Pratt voices Mario, and Anya Taylor Joy will be Princess Peach. Charlie Day voices Luigi, Jack Black will be Bowser, and Seth Rogen will be Donkey Kong. Instead of Mario's signature Italian accent Mario will have a heavy Brooklyn accent.
The Super Mario Bros game is a family friendly video game developed by Nintendo about Mario and his good friend Luigi traveling through magical worlds attempting to save Princess Peach from Browser. This classic video game originated in 1983 and developed over time. “The trailer has given audiences many eye-popping frames of its colorful and fantastical worlds, from the wonderfully weird Mushroom Kingdom to Bowser’s flying lava ship,” said Digital trends. This news gives some intake on how the movie will look but nothing on what the plot is.
