Top Anime Of 2021
The most watched anime of 2021 was Jujutsu Kaisen. Jujutsu Kaisen is written by Gege Akutami and it was adapted into a series and animated by Studio MAPPA in 2020. However, as popular as this anime is, there is a huge controversy over it. Most people who have watched it will tell you that while the animation and battle scenes are very detailed and astonishing. This anime has clearly taken inspiration from other shonen titles. But others just really love the anime all around.
“This is a standard shonen anime, but it's distinguishable in that the main character's introduction is bleak, and we get to see how his journey unfolds through that lens,” says Ty’Kira Smalls, a critic from Common Sense Social Media.
Another critic, Panos Kotzathanasis from Asian Movie Pulse says, “Jujutsu Kaisen offers very little in terms of originality, and it seems that its success is based mostly on impression rather than substance. The work done in the technical aspect, however, compensates to a large degree.”

Synopsis
Idly indulging in baseless paranormal activities with the Occult Club, high schooler Yuuji Itadori spends his days at either the clubroom or the hospital, where he visits his bedridden grandfather. However, this leisurely lifestyle soon takes a turn for the strange when he unknowingly encounters a cursed item. Triggering a chain of supernatural occurrences, Yuuji finds himself suddenly thrust into the world of Curses—dreadful beings formed from human malice and negativity—after swallowing the said item, revealed to be a finger belonging to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the "King of Curses."
Yuuji experiences first-hand the threat these Curses pose to society as he discovers his own newfound powers. Introduced to the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, he begins to walk down a path from which he cannot return—the path of a Jujutsu sorcerer.

The top anime of 2022 was none other than Attack On Titan: The final Season Part 1. The winners of the 6th Crunchyroll Anime Awards were announced on February 9, 2022 without a ceremony.
“Attack on Titan continues to prove itself as the most layered anime of the generation,” Sheraz Farooqi, a critic from CinemaDebate says.
Kayleigh Donaldson, a critic from IGN movies says, “The final season’s premiere continues Attack on Tittan’s deft focus on the no-win hell that is war, and while fans may miss those familiar faces, the new cast and their side of the story are sure to impress.”

Summary
After learning that the Island of Paradis is basically a concentration camp for "Eldians" who are a race of humans who are being oppressed for their inherent ability to transform into Titans. The Survey Corps plan on invading the outside world of Marley in order to obtain the freedom they have been wanting. Three years later, Marleyan child soldiers Gabi Braun and Falco Grice prepare for combat under the watch of Reiner Braun, a double agent between Marley and the Eldians suffering from the trauma of war.
As Marley attempts to strengthen its political dominance with other nations, Eren and the Survey Corps make their move to invade Marley. After using their Titan powers to devastate their military forces, they escape back to their home of Paradis Island to recuperate. Meanwhile, a vengeful Gabi and worried Falco become stowaways on their ship. The Survey Corps cooperates with Zeke who is a double agent for the Eldians as well as a wielder of the Beast Titan's powers to try to build a new empire.

Jujutsu Kaisen is an amazing choice for fans who enjoy action but want a break from the constant sorrow and grief in Attack On Titan. Yuji is a fun-loving protagonist who, similar to Eren, is kind of a monster-human hybrid since he swallowed a cursed finger and is now inhabited by Sukuna, the King of Curses.
Heera Murray is an 8th grade student in vocal Music (she/her). “If I could choose one anime to be the top anime in 2021 I would choose Demon slayer,” she said. “The characters were immaculate, the different breathing styles were very cool. I also love the animation in Demon slayer.” Murray says that watching Tanjiro grow as a fighter and learn how to become a better person through the series is a very interesting and fun concept. “My top anime for 2022 is definitely Spy x Family because there’s always some drama and I think it’s cool how Anya can hear what they're thinking,” Murray said.
Murray has watched Jujutsu Kaisen and thinks that the reason that Jujutsu Kaisen was the top anime in 2021 was because it’s a fantasy based anime and has a dark undertone to it. The main reason that Murray loves Jujutsu Kaisen is because of Gojo. “People can literally watch an entire anime for one character and to be honest, it’s Gojo. Like if Kakashi and Gojo kissed, it would complete the mask, their child would have no face.”
Murray watched Attack On Titan and really enjoyed it. She loves the animation and darkness of it. One thing that Murray does not enjoy is that, “they always kill off like the best and most inspiring characters.” Murray said that “it’s one of those animes where you genuinely don’t know what’s coming next.”
