"The monsters are incredibly weird and add to the oddness of the movie. I love seeing the folktales that I heard as a child come to life." -- Drax Richardson, 8th Grade
1. Krampus
On Christmas Eve, a little boy loses his Christmas spirit and unleashes the wrath of Krampus on his family. They must fight to protect themselves and get rid of the evil beast.
Krampus is a very well made movie. It keeps an air of suspense the whole time. The monsters are incredibly weird and add to the oddness of the movie. I love seeing the folktales that I heard as a child come to life. It really shows how important Christmas spirit is. For a horror movie, it has some good messages, including how important teamwork is. This horror movie is pretty good as a first horror movie for someone. It's mostly just suspense and not too much gore.

2. Rare Exports
On a mountain somewhere in the wilderness is a mountain, where a small boy, Pietari, thinks some Americans have dug up Santa Claus. But not the Santa Claus we know, the real one, the evil one. When animals start to die and the Americans disappear it puts everyone on edge.
This movie is fantastic. It still holds the idea of Christmas, but with a very dark twist. It is in Finnish, but with subtitles you can still grasp the impending doom they all feel. There is some gore but not an excessive amount. There is also a bit of cursing, but again not too excessive. This movie is perfect for those starting out with horror and anyone who wants something festive for the holidays!

3. Anna and the Apocalypse
When the zombie apocalypse starts on Christmas, it’s up to Anna and her other friends to survive while keeping their loved ones safe.
This is a very dramatic movie, almost to the point where it seems like it’s a parody of something. It is a musical so that does give it some bonus points. But unfortunately it's pretty cringey, like really cringey. It has some very, very dramatic make-out scenes and some innuendos, so probably for around 12 and up. It's a very… interesting movie. The gore is very clearly fake so it's not too bad. There is lots of blood and fake body parts seen as it is a zombie movie. While there's a lot of Christmas themes in it,it isn't really the main focus. I wouldn't really suggest this one for anyone unless you want to be uncomfortable the whole time.
