Stranger Things is a netflix sci-fi drama series created by the duffer brothers. those of us who have finished all of the seasons are probably wondering the same thing, when will the new seasons of stranger things come out? well keep reading to find out everything you need to know.--Zanthe Jones-Gerachis, 6th grade
Stranger Things is a sci-fi drama series created by the Duffer brothers in 2016 for Netflix. When season 3 came to a close in 2018, there was said to be another season in the works, teased by the preview of Jim Hopper (played by David Harbor) in Russian captivity. However, 4 years later, fans are still awaiting season 4. Everyone was probably annoyed to hear about the delays for the new seasons, but maybe that long wait was worth it, because it was recently announced that there will be not one but two new seasons of Stranger Things. Seasons 4 and 5 of Stranger Things experienced many delays, due to Covid which therefore put a hold on filming, which is why we have had such a long wait.
The Duffer Brothers realized how long season 4 would be, so they decided to split the season in half. Now there will be season 4, part one, season 4, part two, and season 5 all together.
And with new seasons, comes new characters. There will be many new characters, but here is a list of what we know so far:
Myles Truitt, featured in Queen Sugar, will play a boy named Patrick who is a basketball player at Hawkins High, “until shocking events send his life spiraling out of control.”
In that same article from Popsugar, “Stranger Things Is Getting New Cast Members For Season 4,” Amybeth McNulty, the main character in Anne With an E, will play a girl named Vickie, who is a “band nerd that catches the eye of one of our beloved heroes.”
Grace Van Dien, most known for her role in Charlie Says, but also in the first season of the series Greenhouse Academy. Grace Van Dien plays Chrissy in Stranger Things. Chrissy is a girl who has popularity and looks, but under all of her cheerleading life, she is hiding a “dark secret.”
Eduardo Franco as Argyle, Jonathan Byers’ new fun-loving best best friend, who is also a pizza delivery-guy. Another new character named Colonel Sullivan played by Sherman Augustus. Colonel Sullivan is an officer who thinks he knows how to put a stop to the bad in Hawkins. Sherman Augustus might be known for their role as Marshall Pruitt in Westworld.
No characters are being removed from the show, other than the ones who were killed in the previous seasons of Stranger Things. As for when the new seasons will come out, we finally have a date! The first part of the 4th season will come out on Netflix, May 24, 2022. The second part of the 4th season will be out on July 1st, as for the 5th season, we don't have an official date, but it will for sure be in 2022.
Of course, everyone probably has a lot of questions relating to the new Stranger Things seasons. One of them definitely is, will the show end after season 5? Sadly, we do have an answer to that, and it's true, the show will end after season 5.
