Welcome to the world of virtual reality. Headsets can display anything you want, and play any video game you want. You get a breathtaking 360 view of the new world around you, and I am here to review one of the supposably “best VR games,” Gorilla Tag. Gorilla tag is now the top VR game to play, being free on most headsets. Gorilla tag is free on Oculus, but other devices like PC VR or SteamVR you might need to make some purchases for a good gameplay experience. It’s a game where you can live through the eyes of a gorilla, hence the name, and make friends. The game has beaten out Beat Saber, taking the throne for “Most Popular game on VR.” This game was made by the one and only Lemming, AKA Kerestell Smith, and also founder of another Axiom. I will be rating the game by:

MULTIPLAYER (PLAY WITH FRIENDS.)
Gorilla tag has 4 different mods at the moment: classic, infection, hunt, and last-but-not-least, paintbrawl. Giving you a couple of options what to do. But there are also different types of servers. When you spawn (joining a game, you will be put somewhere in the game) into the treehouse, you can easily spawn into a new public server simply clicking OPTION 1 (to disconnect), or just walking into a different map. Joining public servers is great to make friends, and meet new people. You can friend them in VR, and plan to meet again. When you join public servers, you can play mini games with others, and also create a ghost hunting team. The ghost hunting team is a type of player who goes to different “ghost servers,” which supposedly has something like a famous moderator, or a person who likes to troll others.
After public servers, there are private servers. When you spawn in Gorilla Tag, you will spawn somewhere that seems to look like a treehouse. In front of you, there should be something like a computer. You can type in a combination of sorts, like numbers and letters. You can either join a server, or create a server, the computer will always be there when you want to leave. There are also other computers in the different maps.
In addition, you can also choose to use your mic to talk to others online and you can also install other modes. Gorilla Tag is therefore a perfect game to play with friends since there are so many options for multiplayer gaming. +1/10
BOUNDLESS ACTIVITIES
Can you ever run out of things to do In Gorilla Tag? In the game, you can create outfits for your avatar. Play different modes, (as explained in multiplayer) roleplay, (shops and houses in the clouds map) and go ghost hunting. There are many things to do in Gorilla Tag, and you even can add hundreds of thousands of mods for free. Each month there seems to be a huge update, where the store will be added with new cosmetics, and sometimes a new map or mode for gameplay. The game also changes depending on the season, for example, during the fall time you may see piles of leaves and games you can find during school time.
The game will include back-to-school cosmetics, and even adding roleplay ideas. During the winter, you may see candy canes in the maps but also see Santa Claus cosmetics and other famous holiday figurestyled cosmetics. During Halloween you are given a treat, trick-or-treat! Pumpkins will spawn around the maps and you can collect vampire to skeleton cosmetics.
(In the city map, you can find the basement. The basement leads to this gigantic maze with monsters that shoot lasers and a reward at the end. Even this trick where you can find a coin in the maze, and shrink your size when you get out of the maze!)
During the summer, you will see trampolines and water balloons.You may also see funny cosmetics, like swim trunks or abs. Even a sunburnt face! With this I bring the conclusion that Gorilla Tag is indeed something you will never get bored of, or even run out of things to do. At the computer in the treehouse you can also set different modes from there, minigames, classic, and even add your own! As Braunstein said, “Gorilla Tag is a bit of a hypnotizing experience. You will find yourself losing hours to this game like it’s nothing and really the only thing that will hold you back is physical exhaustion.”
I don’t think you can ever run out of things to do on Gorilla Tag, especially if you can add some things of your own for creativity. +1/10

Gorilla tag is free on Oculus, but other devices like PC VR or SteamVR you might need to make some purchases for a good gameplay experience, or to just play the game itself. Gorilla Tag is definitely not one of those games where it says it’s completely free, but then it feels like a “pay to win” sort of thing. The only thing you will have to pay for on Oculus is sometimes a monthly bundle, with 10,000 shiny rocks (game currency) and other cosmetics for only $30. The original price for shiny rocks is 5,000 for $20, which makes the monthly bundle an amazing deal. The monthly bundle contains cosmetics that have something to do with the month, for example, it could be a full Santa Claus costume in December and a lovely cupid costume in February.
I’m going to give this section half a point. +0.5/10
OUTFITS
The Gorilla Tag outfits are not only always relevant to the month, but also very creative! One of my favorites is the Cupid outfit from the Valentine's Day bundle, which also gives an amazing deal for shiny rocks. This outfit has wings and the famous cupid’s bow, with also a heart shaped ring and other accessories.
You can also see more amazing deals and other cool new cosmetics every month or so. Encouraging VR players to play the game monthly and more often than they usually would. Which is really smart.
I will give this section half a point again only because the best outfits you have to pay for. +0.5/10
CHEAP TO BUY IN-GAME THINGS?
Each day, when you login into Gorilla Tag, you will receive a daily login reward of 100 shiny rocks. This is the only way to get shiny rocks, if you don’t have any friends online of VR. If you do, you can give each other shiny rocks. Other than that, it’s impossible to get a huge amount of shiny rocks without paying. Cosmetics can cost up to 5,000 shiny rocks, making it unfair and almost impossible since the cosmetics go away each month.
It would clearly take more than a month to save up for just one item, and it could just be a ring or a hat. I'm not giving any points for this section, +0/10.

The only admin on the game only and maybe always is the one-and-only Lemming, since he is the only one with the admin badge. This badge gives the person abilities to ban people. Everyone can report, but sometimes it is unfair or fake. When you join the Gorilla Tag, you can see the computer with a report of how many people were banned yesterday. These numbers can go all the way up to 2,000 players.
There are many rules in Gorilla Tag, but since there aren't so many ways to stop a person from doing so, people tend to break these rules often. This can be things like racism, sexism, and cursing. The only way to stop it is to report the person. If the same person is reported around 10 times in just 2 weeks, they can get banned. The only ways they can try to get back to playing on the game is to try to appeal on their discord server, or to create a new account.
All cosmetics they have collected will get deleted each way. Most of the time people won’t report because they can be doing the same thing, since this is what public and private servers do, join each other in activities and other things everyone else is doing.
It may seem like a good way to keep everything safe and a wonderful community, but it’s hard to get someone in trouble for things they have done, as it takes a long time. Most of the time people don’t get in trouble at all. +0.5/10

The bad thing about Gorilla Tag has to be the fact that the in-game purchases are very expensive, and it’s hard to buy things that can be up to 5,000 shiny rocks, and you only get 100 a day. The only other way to get shiny rocks is to buy it, almost forcing you to use your money. Things can become very expensive, and you can meet weird people on the internet because reporting a person doesn’t do much. And if you get a false report, it’s almost impossible to claim yourself innocent and reclaim your account.
