Are you curious about the video game Minecraft but not sure where to start? Look no further, I’ve compiled a survival guide for your gaming pleasure, so if you're in creative mode, you might wanna change your gamemode to survival or make another world. You can change your gamemode by going into the pause button and going to settings, then going over to the gamemode and changing it to survival.
Ok, you’ve just joined into your Minecraft world, (also known as the place you spawn, named the in is called the Overworld.) and you don’t know what you're supposed to do, or even the goal of the game. In short, the goal of the game is to defeat the Ender Dragon but you can go farther than that and defeat the Wither. To get to the End to defeat the Ender Dragon, (the End is an actual place in Minecraft--confusing, I know) you need the eyes of Ender to locate and to put the eyes into the Ender portal. (A place in the Overworld that you find with eyes of ender that has a portal to the End) so you can go to the End and you get eyes of ender by crafting blaze rods and Ender pearls together. To get Ender pearls you kill enderman (teleporting black tall things that spawn in the End and can travel to the overworld that do a decent amount of damage).
However! You also need to kill Blazes which are floating orange and yellow creatures that can spit balls of fire at you and they spawn in the nether fortress.
You find the nether fortress in the Nether. The best way to find the nether fortress is to place a dirt block down then place a sunflower on top of it and go the way the sunflower points. The nether is another place (the most HATED place, it's also deadly) in minecraft and you get there by making a nether portal which can be made with obsidian and flint and steel. You get obsidian by mining it with a diamond pickaxe and you can find or make obsidian by putting water on lava, if you do it the other way around (put lava on water) then it turns into cobblestone.
You get diamonds by finding them in places like desert temples, sometimes villages and other loot places. You can also mine them, the best coordinate is Y 11. It's always a good idea to turn on coordinates in settings, you can also do it in the game by going to settings.
You can crawl with trap doors and it's useful to start crawling and strip mining that way. It's also recommended you use the tnt method (blowing up TNT to find diamonds). You make a diamond pickaxe by crafting sticks and three diamonds together. You get sticks by mining trees then making wood planks. (The color will change depending on the tree, also any tree will work.)
You can mine trees with your hand any tool will work too depending on the type of tool it might be slower.
