Rapper Snoop Dogg dropped an album called B.O.D.R. (Back On Death Row) after purchasing Death Row Records in 2022 from Dr. Dre right before his Superbowl appearance, where he performed B.O.D.R. at the halftime show. B.O.D.R. was then dropped on Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud and other platforms on February 11th .
The first song “Still Smoking” is about his return to making music and his lyrics talk about having a dream about him having a dream of him getting back on Death Row. The dream in fact was real, as he now owns Death Row.
The song “Crip Ya Enthusiasm” was a very annoying song at first, very bad in my opinion. It's like TV static and then goes into a circus-ish beat but when Dogg starts rapping it gets better, and then he starts rapping about his experience in his TV show
The song “Doggystyling” talks about him and his gangster life being a Crip. The beat is actually awesome! It’s like clams or some type of stick clicking against each other with a vocal-like thing you would hear in a scary-ish movie, but at the same time, it’s not scary. And it all fits together.
Another one is “Daddy” which features rapper Emo Trap. Emo Trap has a lightish voice in this and sounds like his own style in rapping, but a rap that's light. And the beat has like somebody about to sing saying “daddy” but replayed in a beat rhythm-type thing.
My personal favorite is “Conflicted.” He does the song with Nas and talks about the west coast and east coast gangsters and how they mess around. The beat really does hit hard, the base is kinda light and the beat sounds like a beat that would motivate your mind to get up, and Snoop Dogg's voice really makes the beat fit with the whole song.
This album is stacked with features by Nas, Wiz Khalifa, DaBaby, The Game, Nate Dogg, T.I., Sleepy Brown, Uncle Murda, E-Mo, October London, Nefertiti Avant, HeyDeon, and Jane Handcock. It’s complete with lots of nice beats of different styles, including beats that you don't normally hear from Snoop Dogg.
Snoop Dogg also released an NFT when he made this album which the NFT is lowkey kinda clean.
