Recently on a trip to Dolores Park, a guy told me about the idea of crystal healing and how it is ritualized. I was immediately very drawn and interested in it. I find myself being drawn into the ideas of a higher power  a lot.

People who believe in the crystal healing practice have claimed to feel certain sensations when practicing the ritual. They claimed to feel tingling, warmth, and a sense of well being. But when these people were given fake crystals, they reacted the same way and claimed to feel the same thing.

It is claimed that crystals can cause less stress, boost creativeness, cure diseases, and enhance levels of consciousness. This belief has nothing to do with science, it is purely based off of “magical auras”, vibrations, and frequencies. It is believed that every single  crystal possesses a higher energy or a different vibration.
Dr Christopher French decided to test the actual effects of crystal healing on 80 volunteers. half of these volunteers were given real, genuine crystals while the other half were given plastic crystals but were told they were real and New Age. When they were given the crystals, the volunteers were told to report what they were feeling. Only six out of the eighty had no report at all and a majority of the volunteers claimed to feel warmth in their hand and a sense of concentration suddenly. Also when dr french held the genuine quartz crystal, he felt no difference from holding the fake one.

Although this information is very interesting to me, it does not change my belief in crystals working. I, myself have a rose quartz necklace and I have found myself more rational and happy since wearing it. Yes this may be just the idea of something helping you trick but I  do believe in the crystal aura and that would be so dope if it was truly real.

I don’t like how doctors and people try to prove everything wrong when most of the things they’re trying to prove are not really harming anyone. If one believes there is a god don’t try to prove them wrong—respect them for finding a coping skill in life. Crystals and religion are examples of therapeutic help in life when you  don’t have it professionally available. I have nothing but respect for other peoples religions and beliefs and I hope people learn to think the same because we would have a lot less negativity and a lot more love in the world.
