" Spider-Man: Brand New Day made history on its fourth weekend, becoming one of the highest grossing Marvel movies, and gaining $35 million in the domestic box office. Not to mention $85 million across the world." - Jasper Yearwood 6th grade
Marvel's Spider-Man: Brand New Day made history on its fourth weekend, becoming one of the highest grossing Marvel movies, and gaining $35 million in the domestic box office. Not to mention $85 million across the world. Anthony D’ Alessandro, a writer for Deadline says “That 50% fourth week and decline is on par with Avengers Endgame.” Endgame is currently Marvel's highest grossing movie, but right now Brand New Day's grand total is almost $855 million and set to surpass Endgame shortly, which has a domestic gross of $858 million.
Brand New Day is also a very highly rated movie with a 90% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and a nearly perfect 98% audience score. This shows many people are satisfied with the new web-slinger movie, and all that support may make it the highest grossing Marvel movie someday.
On the note of success, Teddy Hunt, a seventh grader at OSA says, “I really like the movie because it was so on point. It's a really good movie, so I think it will beat Avengers Endgame.”
Tom Holland, who plays Spiderman, states (on the talkshow, Late Night with Seth Meyers),“We have Spider-Man Brand New Day, and I'm so unbelievably proud of the movie.” Although his favorite movie he acted in was Spider-Man: No Way Home, he really did like acting in Brand New Day. He did say he could use a little less jumping.
Marvel doesn't have to worry, because Brand New Day will keep climbing up the box office, just like Spider-Man will crawl up your screen.
