This album’s release coincided with her engagement to NFL player Travis Kelce this August, with the album coming out on October 3rd. "rihanna celebrating music of the sun 2oth anniversary. It's been 20 years??!"--aniyah garza 8th grade
In 2005, at the age of sixteen, Rihanna signed a deal with Def Jam Recordings and made her first studio album Music of the Sun, which sold 623,000 copies in the US and made over 1.76 million. The album featured 13 hit songs like “Pon de Replay” and If “It’s Lovin’ That You Want” which is the most important reason why this album is being celebrated. Rihanna has announced that to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this album she will be releasing new merch and a vinyl set box from her previous albums. She’s even changed the banners on her media accounts to previous album covers celebrating her 20 years making music.

Since that first album,Rihanna has made millions from every album she released and had features with popular artists like Drake, Britney Spears, and Eminem since 2005 to 2016 and hasn't released anything since then. in 2006, Rihanna made her acting debut in her first movie Bring It On: All or Nothing and has been in major hit movies like Home, Annie, and Ocean's Eight.

In 2008, Rihanna received her first Grammy from Taylor Swift and Juanes for her album Good Girl Gone Bad and her song “Umbrella” featuring Jay-Z, recorded at the age of 20 years old, and has 34 nominations and a total of 9 Grammys today.

In 2012, Rihanna was invited to Victoria Secret to perform "Diamonds" and Phresh Out The Runway and was labeled as the best top twelve Victoria Secret live performances ever since. In 2017 she made her first beauty line “Fenty beauty” that gained extra popularity for her success in her career and is one of the most popular makeup brands and the 2nd makeup brand to have the most foundation shades in Sephora till this day.
In February 2023, she performed at the Super Bowl LVII halftime show after not performing a show since her 2018 Grammy Awards, and has also announced her second pregnancy reveal on stage and attracted over 121 million viewers surpassing the previous record held by Katy Perry.

In early May of 2025 Rihanna released a single “Friend Of Mine” for the new Smurfs movie that came out around early July. Fans were excited for new music from her after almost a decade of not receiving new music or any albums. In celebration for all the success she has made from this journey Rihanna wanted to thank her fans on instagram for all the support she has had over the years “20 years ago, I left my country, my culture, my food, and family to embark on a journey that started with the release of my very first body of music!”

Sombr, (aka Shane Micheal Boose) is an indie singer/songwriter known for his 2022  hit “caroline” or more recently for breakout songs “back to Friends,” “undressed,” and “12 to 12.” Sombr is known for his catchy choruses and satisfyingly produced and reverbed vocals. The first time I heard “undressed,” I was hooked, and I decided to check his music out. -Evie AHlers, 6th grade
