THE REMATCH IS SCHEDULED TO BE ON MAY 5TH, AND BOTH ARE MORE THAN READY FOR THE UPCOMING FIGHT. -EMILIANO ESTRADA
Two minutes into round ten, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez lands a right uppercut on Gennady “GGG” Golovkin. Golovkin isn’t punching as much, while Canelo pushes him into the corner, head and body shots flying against the current middleweight champion. Golovkin’s back against the ropes, trying his best to block and dodge punches as Alvarez’s left hook connects with the side of GGG’s face—and Golovkin can only shake his head as if the devastating punch didn’t faze him. The crowd rises from their seats, to see the Mexican boxer take back the fight.
Canelo is by far one of the best middleweight boxers alive. Canelo’s punches are accurate and powerful, however his strong suit is his ability to counter punch. During the last fight, Canelo was able to avoid Golovkin’s punches and immediately send his own in response. His punches hurt, his punches land, and his punches are timed perfectly—which makes him a tough opponent in the ring. Canelo is also seen as a brawler, being able to start off 3-4 punch combos and take advantage of the enemy’s opened spots.
GGG is the middleweight champion for good reason. His fight record is 37 fights (33 of which are K.O’s) and one draw with Canelo Alvarez. Golovkin fights with precision, pressure, and power. GGG is a fighter who is always putting pressure on his opponents, backing them into corners, punching them into the ropes. GGG fights with intention and strategy, and is known for having one of the strongest chins of all time. He has never been knocked down in his professional or amatuer career. Next wll be a recap of the last fight round by round.

The rematch is scheduled to be on May 5th, and both are more than ready for the upcoming fight. "Golovkin, this time you won't need the judges. I'm going to knock you out,” Canelo taunts in one of the promotion videos.
This second fight is a chance for Canelo to hone his skills and formulate a fighting strategy to win. Other people in the boxing community also feel like this is a fight for Canelo Alvarez to win. “Look at that fight. Canelo handled [Golovkin] those last three rounds,” said Eric Gomez, president of Golden Boy Promotions. “And this time around, Canelo’s going to have an easier time with him. Not an easy fight, but he has the experience now and he wants this fight.”
However, Abel Sanchez, Gennady Golovkin’s trainer, has also been showing the world that GGG is going to defend his title as middleweight champion. Sanchez tells OnTheRopesBoxingRadio that Canelo talks smack and nothing he says is promising. Sanchez also mentions that GGG can do the exact same strategy from their last fight and still win. However, I have to agree with Eric Gomez. Canelo used the first fight to learn more about GGG, to feel him out, and to show Golovkin that he belongs in the ring with him. This upcoming fight, the boxing community will see Canelo have a much more technical strategy, and using his skills to win the fight.
