"Object shows are animated web cartoons mostly about inanimate objects competing for a prize" --Naomi stallworth 6th grade
Object shows are animated web cartoons mostly about inanimate objects competing for a prize or stories about objects like The Nightly Manor! Object shows started when Michael and Cary Huang made Total Firey Island in 2008 which was heavily based off of Survivor and Total Drama Island. Total Firey Island was a comic about objects battling for a prize, and Firey was the host, then that transformed into BFDI. Adam Katz made a show based off of BFDI called “Inanimate Insanity” which resulted in people making Object Shows also based off of BFDI, which formed the Object Show Community! There's at least 2763+ object shows out there.
Competition object shows always do each episode with an intro then a new challenge, and at the end, viewers vote for who they would like to leave the show. The eliminations are shown in the next episode. Competition shows are the most common type of Object Show.
Here are some competition-centered object shows that I recommend:
Battle for Dream Island
Battle for Dream Island (BFDI) would be the best to start with since it’s the series that kicked off the “object community.” The BFDI series is very long, running for five seasons including: “Battle For Dream Island,” “Battle For Dream Island Again,” “Island Dream For Battle,” “Battle For Battle For Dream Island,” and “The Power Of Two.” The series Battle for Dream Island starts in a grassy field the cast being: Blocky, Bubble, Coiny, Eraser, Firey Flower, Golf Ball, Ice Cube, Leafy, Match, Needle, Pen, Pencil, Pin, Rocky, Snowball Spongy, Teardrop, Tennis Ball, Woody, and the host who is a grey speaker named “Announcer” (BFDI S1). The prize for this show is “Dream Island” which is an island.
You should watch them in that exact order!
Fun fact: The Power Of Two and Battle For Dream Island Again, Island Dream For Battle are still going, and Island Dream For Battle will be continuing when The Power Of Two and Battle For Dream Island Again are done.
BFDI was created in 2010 by Micheal Huang and His Brother Cary Huang on their YouTube Channel, JacknJellify, where you can watch it right now.
Inanimate Insanity
Inanimate Insanity is probably the best object show to watch once you're done with the JacknJellify series (BFDI). Inanimate Insanity isn't the best at the beginning: season one is very VERY unserious and has very low quality animation. But, don't worry, it gets better! With Animation, Character assets, Etc. The viewing order is a little complicated. You're supposed to start at Season 1, watch Season 2 up to the 14th episode, then watch season 3 and once you’ve finished that, go back and finish season 2. A new season is set to release this year. Inanimate insanity also starts in a grassy field the cast of Inanimate insanity is: Balloon, Baseball, Bomb, Knife Lightbulb Marshmallow Nickel OJ Paintbrush, Paper, Pepper, Pickle, Salt, Taco, And the host being MePhone4 who is technically an Iphone, The objects are competing for 1 million dollars.
Adam Tyler Katz created Inanimate Insanity for his channel, AnimationEpic.
Animatic Battle
Animatic Battle is a very silly and goofy object show. Animatic Battle technically only has one season. The series Object Fool takes place before Animatic Battle (though viewing it is optional). Animatic Battle takes place in a light blue grass field with blue and pink bushes in the background, The Animatic Battle cast is: Doorframe,Tiery ,Eject, jej, Peppermint, Raid Red Sticky Hand, Shifty, and Doorstopper with hosts Eucerin (Season 1), and Animatic (Season 2). The contestants compete for a GreenyGuy 2 which is just… a 3D model of the creator’s object show original character.
Animatic Battle was created by the YouTuber GagofGreen (Or GreenyGuy), and you can watch it on his channel.
Korean Fried Chicken
Korean Fried Chicken (KFC or KorFC) is a Korean object show, so I wouldn't recommend watching it if you don’t enjoy subtitles or audio dubbing. Korean Fried Chicken has a lot of memes in it and the characters’ interactions are very silly (same thing for Hnwoo’s other object show FMS). There's only two episodes for now, about an hour to watch, but the series isn’t finished. The cast consists of: Acryl Moon, Aru, Bacon, Bass Clef, Capsule, Candycat, Catball, Charm, Chicken Wing ,Cube, Cutter, Dalgo-ja, Drag, Fally, and Fishbowl, with hosts Host, and Zipper Box. The prize for this show is Korean-style fried chicken.
Hnwoo created Korean Fried Chicken, Hwnoo has also made another object show named FMS (although it isn't that recognised).
Some Other Object Shows Worth Watching:
It's Time For The (ITFT) (Highly recommend this show if you like Animatic Battle) (By Derpadon)
The Excellent Entities (By WebzForevz)
Daily Object Show (By FusionAnimations)
THANOS (THANOS by Highvan) is an object show parody and it’s really, really random)
Total Firey Island (The comic book that started the idea of BFDI! by JacknJellify/Watch on Carykh’s channel)
Showvember! (By TTGUY10000 and other designers; It's very silly but not as silly as AB or ITFT, just a warning the show changes stories and animators every episode)
BURNER (It's a really silly object show by SacriStuff)
Non-competition shows mostly just focus on telling a story. There aren’t many non-competition shows in the Object Show Community because most object shows just like to be like BFDI, but most of the non-competition show have a good plot even if its not based off of BFDI.
If you’re interested in non-competition shows here are some of my suggestions:
ONE (HfjONE)
ONE is probably the most famous non-competition object show, mostly because of its story I highly recommend watching ONE! The animation quality for ONE is very good! The story follows a green backpack named Liam, Liam and some other objects get teleported in a competition they don't want to participate in.
hfjONE is by Isaac Hall, who owns a channel called Cheesyhfj, where you can watch ONE and his other shows.
Love Of The S*n
Love OF The S*n (Pronounced “Love of the Sun/Son”) is another non-competition object show where objects explore the afterlife. I would also highly recommend this show since it's different from most of the other object shows! There are a few joke scenes, while the rest are more serious. Unfortunately, the show is only three episodes long for now.
Love Of The S*n is by Samuel Malues Relogsle. You can watch Love Of The S*n on his channel is Malues.
The Nightly Manor
The Nightly Manor is a show about objects going to a mansion and is the first object show in the mystery genre.. The Nightly Manor has good animation quality and a good plot so I would recommend watching this show. FUN FACT: The Nightly Manor is the reboot of Object Manor! Object Manor was just the same thing as Nightly Manor but the Character assets were not that good with shading/color and they used BFDI mouths and limbs for animating.
The Nightly Manor is by Allen Lee, who owns a channel called Allenimations.
Every object show is pretty different so if you do feel like watching object shows then there's a very high chance that there's one you’ll really like. If you ever don’t know what to watch, you should definitely watch object shows! :D
